  Respect to The Weeknd for shedding light on a forgotten tragedy. The Red Terror was a genocide in Ethiopia, where countless lives were lost under a ruthless dictatorship. His 8 month pregnant mother’s journey from that horror to raising a global superstar is a testament to strength and resilience. Let this song be a tribute to those who never got to tell their stories."

  The dialogue at the end of the full track is basically him telling us OG xo’s the old weeknd will come back if you follow through the loop but he can’t make newer darker music as he needs to be on that mindset which we don’t need him to be as he’s trying to break free from the character. we constantly complain how we want the old weeknd back and this song explaining his origin story of his mother fleeing Ethiopia into the cold snowy county of Canada. He has to be in that mindset hence why he made it a loop going back into high for this on the last track. This song is basically telling us why he became the person who he was. His father leaving him from a young age and how he felt so alone in the world and would distract himself watching movies on which he gets his inspiration of story telling and world building from. This album is the rebirth. He’s telling us the reason why he became the way he was in the house of balloons story. While Abel is finally free the weeknd is going back circles as Abel wants to show that living a hedonistic life will catch up to you and you will eventually pay for your sins as karma is very real. He never intended the carachter to be glorified from the beginning but we as fans did and want him to keep dwelling on his old ways. This is a story about redemption so be careful of what path you choose because you will have to pay the consequences of your actions at some point in life which this second trilogy was all about. Abel is the greatest musical narrator that’s ever lived. The most beautiful story ever told. The voice of this generation.

  The album was WAY better than I thought it was gonna be, a lot of times when an artist keep pushing an album back, I get worried, but this was WORTH THE WAIT. Been a fan since 2011, got to watch Abel go from underrated, to one of the biggest superstars in music history. Salute to him for making such an awesome body of work. Favorite songs were Niagra Falls, and I Can’t Wait To Get There 🔥

  As an Ethiopian born around the same time as Abel aka the weeknd, I knew straight away from the title that he was talking about the Derge regime without opening the video.... sometimes the past never leaves us but we must not let it consume our future.. that's the true downfall. Proud of our brother Abel to rise and become an International star.. we Ethiopians have many stories and beautiful cultures. Life is already tough enough without re-living the past. P.S Abel, if you ever get a chance to see this, hope you make the time to visit your home.
